Recreation Scholarships Available During 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic

During the 2020 COVID-19 public health emergency, Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks is offering scholarships to qualifying families to help offset the cost of participating in the Summer Daze Camp & Care program at Steele Lane Community Center and Steele Lane Park.

Scholarships are available for the Steele Lane location only

Eligibility Requirements


To be eligible for the Scholarship Program families must live within Santa Rosa City limits and must show proof of receiving at least one of the following:

  • Social Security Supplemental or Disability Income
  • Public assistance through the Sonoma County Human Services Department, i.e., Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Food Stamps
  • Free lunch assistance through the local schools
  • Public assistance through the City of Santa Rosa Housing Authority
  • Medi-Cal Benefits Card

How the Program Works

Complete a Scholarship Application and present it in person at one of the Recreation & Parks facilities listed below. When you present your completed application, you will also need to show Recreation & Parks staff the current documentation from the agency which administers your assistance. Be prepared to register for the program(s) of your choosing at the time you turn in the application. Camp schedules may be found hereOne scholarship per child per year is allowed.

About the Scholarship Program


The Scholarship Program provides families in need the opportunity to participate in Recreation & Parks programs. Funds are raised through the Department’s annual fundraising events, such as the St. Patrick's Day 5K, Handmade Holiday Crafts Fair, Senior Expo, and from individual contributions received from donors throughout the year.
