Trash Collection

North Bay Corporation provides free collection service for large items for single family residential customers in the City of Santa Rosa.

Collected Items

This free service includes the collection of household appliances such as washers, dryers and refrigerators. Furniture, mattresses, carpet (must be cut into four-foot sections that weigh no more than 60 lbs.), exercise equipment, household electronics such as stereos, televisions, computers, VCRs and landscaping materials, tires and other similar items are also collected.

Refrigerators and freezers must be empty in order to be collected. All items must be placed neatly at the curb. Small items must be contained in bags or boxes, loose material will not be collected.


This collection service is available four (4) times per year and limited to three (3) large items or equal to three (3) cubic yards per collection. Residents have the option of receiving a bin (2 or 3 yard bin size) at no charge. Large items in excess of these amounts will incur an extra charge. No single item may exceed four feet by four feet by two feet or may exceed 60 pounds with the exception of household appliances and televisions.

Prohibited Items

  • Auto parts that have contained fluids
  • Hazardous waste
  • Items with an internal combustion engine, such as lawnmowers or weed eaters
  • Liquid waste
  • Propane tanks


In February 2003, Santa Rosa Recycling and Collection became your new solid waste and recycling service provider. After a competitive bidding process, North Bay Corporation was chosen as the new solid waste and recycling contractor for the City of Santa Rosa. Beginning February 1st, 2003, North Bay Corporation, operating as Santa Rosa Recycling and Collection, Inc. commenced solid waste and recycling services in the City.
