The Violence Prevention Awareness Seminar is a professional development conference that promotes relevant topics to prevent community violence through gang intervention and strategies that serve serve trauma impacted families and communities.

Featuring keynote speaker Luis J. Rodriguez

The Violence Prevention Partnership is excited to welcome Luis J. Rodriguez, as this year's seminar keynote speaker. Mr. Rodriguez is a Chicano poet and author of Always Running, La Vida Loca, Gang Days in L.A. and It Calls You Back: An Odyssey of Love, Addiction, Revolutions, and Healing. He is also the former Los Angeles Poet Laureate and one of the founders of Tia Chucha Press and Tia Chucha's Cafe & Centro Cultural.
