Youth Community Police Experience

Do you know a Santa Rosa teen (14 - 18) who is interested in a behind-the-scenes look at the Santa Rosa Police Department?

The Youth Community Police Experience (YCPE) participants enjoy four days of hands-on learning about what to expect from their police and share that knowledge with others. They get an introduction to the local criminal justice system and a first-hand opportunity to learn the types of duties and responsibilities of police officers and police staff, such as patrol procedures, criminal investigations, narcotics, firearms, defensive tactics, emergency vehicle operations, and neighborhood-oriented policing.

The course will start at the Santa Rosa Police Department (965 Sonoma Ave.) on July 11th, then will move to the Santa Rosa City Fire Tower facility on W. College Avenue for both in-classroom and outdoor demonstrations and presentations.

For more information about this program, contact Lieutenant Josh Ludtke at [email protected] or Sergeant Matt Crosbie at [email protected].
