The Santa Rosa Police Department’s Honor Guard Team was formed in 1990 in order to honor the families of fallen officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
The purpose of the Honor Guard (also known as the Color Guard Team) is to provide the police department with a trained ceremonial unit to render honors, preserve tradition, and build morale and pride in the department. The Honor Guard Team represents the Santa Rosa Police Department at significant events to honor the fallen and present the colors.
Since its formation in 1990, the Honor Guard has expanded its duties and is also utilized as a Color Guard. The mission of the Honor Guard is to respectfully honor those who have served.
