1880's Police Force

Four policemen were hired during this time:

• E. Gardner
• J.H. Hatch
• William Jones
• S.R. Yoho

They earned a monthly salary of $50 a month and wore clerical-cut coats with brass buttons.

First & Only Official Hanging

The first and only official hanging was March 23, 1866. Michael Ryan was hung for killing his wife.
