Please apply today for the upcoming Police and Community session, which will take place September 20th, 27th and October 4th, 11th and18th of 2023.

Police and La Comunidad is a free 5-week educational program spoken exclusively in Spanish so residents can meet and build relationships with Santa Rosa Police Department personnel. Each meeting will highlight a different facet of police work in the City of Santa Rosa in an effort to foster understanding and encourage dialogue with police officers. NEW! We now offer free on-site childcare during Police and Community meetings.

Police and The Community offers residents a rare behind-the-scenes look at the police department. Over the course of 5 weeks, you will learn about:

  • Defensive tactics.
  • SWAT Operations
  • Traffic Law Enforcement
  • Narcotics Investigations
  • K9 Operations
  • Dispatch and communications.
  • Crime scene investigations.
  • Use of force policies.

  • Adults over 18 years old
  • Those who live or work in the city of Santa Rosa.
  • People with a "clean" record (the department will conduct an abbreviated background check on each applicant)
