Chief Michael A. Dunbaugh 1996 - 2004

Career

Chief Dunbaugh’s law enforcement career began in 1974 with the City of Santa Cruz. He worked as a patrol officer and promoted through the ranks. In 1992, he was appointed as Chief of Police for the City of Chico. In 1996, he was appointed as Chief of Police for the City of Santa Rosa.

Education

Chief Dunbaugh completed his undergraduate work through California State University, Sacramento, and received a Bachelors with Honors in Criminal Justice. Graduate work was completed through Cal Poly Pomona where a Masters of Science in Management was earned, and through Monterey College of Law where he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. Chief Dunbaugh also completed the FBI National Academy and the California Command College. Chief Dunbaugh teaches at both the University and Community College level. He enjoys being involved in efforts, personally and professionally, which enhance the quality of life in his community.
