South Park Commons (formerly known as Bennett Valley Affordable Housing) involves the development of an approximately 64,000 square-foot building ranging in height from two to four stories. It will provide 62 residential units, made up of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. As currently envisioned, units will be available to households earning incomes between 20 - 60 percent of area median income (AMI), and half of the units will be reserved as supportive housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
The project will include a community room, laundry room, property management office, social services office, and approximately 23,000 square feet of usable open space. The outdoor open space will provide separate children’s play areas for ages 2 to 5 and 5 to 12, seating areas, a barbecue area and community gardens. The site plan includes 52 parking spaces distributed throughout two parking lots, and the project will provide designated bicycle parking areas.
