Fire Chief Scott Westrope began his fire service career in San Luis Obispo County in 1994. There he spent time with the Pismo Beach Fire Department, San Luis Obispo County Fire Department and worked as a paramedic with a private ambulance provider.
Chief Westrope came to the Santa Rosa Fire Department in 2000 and has previously held the ranks of Firefighter/Paramedic, Captain, Training Captain, Battalion Chief, and Deputy Fire Chief. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Emergency Services Management, with a Special Certificate in Homeland Security. Chief Westrope sits on the Board of Directors for REDCOM, is a member of the Sonoma County Fire Chiefs, the Sonoma County Fire Service Working Group (FSWG), CalChiefs (Area 6 Director), and serves as a Sonoma County Operational Area Coordinator.
Chief Westrope holds an unshakable bond with his community as he has fought shoulder to shoulder with his department during historic fires, and rebuilt along with his community, vowing to provide the balance, resources and compassion that are required to keep us Santa Rosa Strong!
