City Council Advances Two Measures for the City Charter to the November 2022 Ballot
On July 26 at its regularly scheduled council meeting, Santa Rosa City Council advanced two measures by resolution to the November 2022 ballot to update the City Charter. The two separate ballot measures would address the need to modernize language in the City Charter and have it come in-line with the city’s district-based elections. READ MORE
The 21-member Charter Review Committee has significant responsibilities to research, deliberate and, as it deems appropriate, draft proposed revisions to the City Charter. The City Council has identified twelve topics for the Committee’s consideration. As the Committee moves forward and hears from the community, additional ideas may emerge. The Committee is expected to have its work completed by sometime in the spring 2022.
Statement of Purpose
The 2022 Charter Review Committee is charged with leading the City’s decennial review of the City Charter.
Board Information and Records
The first meeting is on Nov. 17, 2021. At that time the City Charter Review Committee is expected to set a meetings schedule.
