Galvin and Howarth Parks Sport Court Layout Options (pdf)

Recreation and Parks invites you to provide your input as we review options for court improvements at Howarth and Galvin Community Parks.  Anticipated improvements include a combination of court resurfacing, and rebuilding, where necessary, including replacement of net posts and other site amenities as needed. The project will also explore the possibility of creating additional pickleball courts either through dual striping for both tennis and pickleball play, or converting a select number of tennis courts to dedicated pickleball courts at one or both facilities.

While the meeting will focus on improvements at the Howarth and Galvin facilities and to determine a favorable balance of courts for both sports between the two, the conversation will also speak to the current and future needs of both the tennis and pickleball communities throughout the City.

A note on Tennis & Pickleball…

SRRP realizes that additional pickleball courts are desired by the community however, at Howarth Park we anticipate preserving the current court layout with five tennis courts and four dedicated pickleball courts.

We are however looking to create additional pickleball courts at other park facilities such as Galvin Community Park where the opportunity exists to convert a number of tennis courts into pickleball.  Stay tuned for more information and opportunities to provide input on how best to serve the current and future needs of both the tennis and pickleball communities.
