Community Gardens

Do you enjoy growing produce or simply sitting back and smelling the roses? If you’re looking to enjoy gardens and gardening, opportunities are available at our City parks and historic sites. Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks works with community groups to maintain and operate Community Gardens at Bayer, Finali, and Julliard parks. Beautiful gardens are also open for public viewing, and residents can volunteer with the groups that run them at the historic Rural Cemetery and Luther Burbank Home and Gardens – the historic home of world-renowned horticulturist Luther Burbank.

Bayer Farm Community Garden

In an agreement with the City of Santa Rosa Recreation and Parks Department, Landpaths, a local nonprofit, operates and maintains the two-acre farm and community hub in the heart of Roseland. Finali Community Garden

Located in Finali Neighborhood Park is the charming Finali Community Garden. Garden plots are allocated annually, beginning in January. Priority goes to gardeners wanting to continue to maintain existing plots, then open plots are available to Santa Rosa residents that live within a mile radius of Finali Park. Juilliard Community Garden

Luther Burbank Home & Gardens

Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery Native Plant & Wildlife Habitat Garden

The garden is in a Santa Rosa landmark, the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery, just inside the large double door iron gate. Created and maintained by volunteers, the garden was designed to provide flowers for pollinators year-round and to also provide shelter, water, and food for them and a variety of other creatures. Take a stroll through a vintage rose and memorial garden maintained by the Rural Cemetery Preservation Committee volunteers. The Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery’s Memorial Program allows individuals or families to install a memorial stone and plaque to honor those whose burial site is elsewhere or unknown. Memorial stones have been permanently mounted in the Rose Garden. Click here for more information.
