COVID-19 Update

Santa Rosa's two senior centers will be re-opening in phases beginning June 21, 2021. Programs will be limited and modified to incorporate COVID-19 safety protocols. Activities may change based on public health guidance and availability. Contact each facility to confirm. Participants and staff will be required to wear face coverings and follow all COVID-19 safety protocols. Please check back regularly for updates to Senior Center operations and programs.

About

Hundreds of active seniors enjoy the facilities and programs offered at Person Senior Wing at the Finley Recreation Complex and Steele Lane Community Center. Both facilities offer comprehensive programming for Santa Rosa's 50 and up community that includes recreational activities, health and fitness classes, hobbies, lifelong learning, enrichment opportunities, socializing and more.

Senior Membership

Add ZEST to life! Join Santa Rosa Seniors 50 & Better who stay active, keep learning and enjoy life! Two centers to serve you, use on or both! Membership is not required, but members get perks, save money and membership lasts a full year!

Memberships cost $24 per year for individuals ($34 non-resident) or $40 per year for couples ($50 non-resident) and benefits include the following:

  • .50 cents off all drop-in activities with the use of Frequent User Pass
  • Free legal clinics and guest speaker series
  • Zest Newsletter mailed to your residence
  • Free coffee & tea
  • Discounts on select events

Dementia Caregivers Support

Caring, confidential and compassionate support group for caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer's and other forms of Dementia. At meetings, you’ll learn best practices for coping with challenging behaviors, experience how others are dealing with caregiving issues, discuss the latest research and receive information about supportive services in our community. AARP Driver Safety Program

Learn current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to drive more safely in today’s challenging traffic environment. Learn to manage common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. First time students must take the full eight-hour course. The renewal course is for those who have completed the full course within the past four years.

Bingo

Bingo is back at Steele Lane, but in the larger auditorium to accommodate social distancing and COVID protocols. Join us for a variety of fun games that will challenge your mind and an opportunity to win a prize or two! No food/drink will be provided (due to COVID protocols) so bring your own. Council on Aging (COA) is offering a meal program that will provide lunch on Mondays to those who sign up with them. Facial coverings and pre-registration required. Billiards

The billiards room is open for those with a reservation! To limit the number of players in the room, you must pre-register for a 3-hour appointment (8 players at a time, 9am-12pm or 12-3pm). This will allow for a COVID safe experience and allow more players to enjoy the billiards room. Facial coverings required. Pre-registration required. Ballroom Dances

Enjoy the best ballroom dancing in Santa Rosa with live bands and DJ music playing your favorite sounds from the ‘40s to present. Keep your feet and spirits floating with the polka, waltz, cha cha, tango, and more. All are welcome with or without a partner. Pre-registration required. Themed Dance Socials: 8/20 Hawaii Day, 10/29 Halloween, 12/17 Holidays, 2/14 Valentine’s Day. No Dances: 11/26, 12/3, 12/24 and 12/31.
