[ARCHIVED] Stay Safe Santa Rosa

Man wearing mask, serving food outdoors

The tail end of a summer unlike any other is upon us and the joys of autumn are coming soon. As you enjoy these last warm days and prepare for fall, please make health and safety your top priority. From dining outdoors to being active in our City parks, there are still many opportunities to get out and enjoy life in Santa Rosa, while taking precautions to protect your health and the health of our community.

As you get out and about, remember to wear a face covering whenever you are in public spaces, stay at least six feet away from others who are not household members, and always practice safe hygiene.

Here are a few fun ways to more safely enjoy life in Santa Rosa during COVID-19:

We’re ‘Open & Out!’ Enjoy Outdoor Dining with Your Household

Lined by great restaurants serving up locally crafted cuisine, as well as unique shops offering clothing, jewelry, and gifts, a new pedestrian-friendly section of 4th Street has been created to more safely move around and explore the urban heart of Santa Rosa. Learn more about this collaborative effort on the City of Santa Rosa website and the Visit Santa Rosa website, which also features a calendar of upcoming Open & Out events.

View Art Made by Your Neighbors and Stay Connected

The Open & Out program also features the talents of local artists who share their creativity through the display of vibrant, outdoor art installations, and the addition of beautifully planted fauna up and down 4th Street adds a welcome enhancement to the color and life of Downtown. Plus, for those who prefer some exercise to go with their art, the City of Santa Rosa’s Public Art Walk is a wonderful experience!

Celebrate Health at 70+ Parks and Recreation Facilities

Walking, hiking, bicycling, tennis, boating, swimming and simply enjoying the scenery at Santa Rosa’s many parks and recreation facilities is still possible amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Most parks are open with restrictions and precautions so that everyone in the community can more safely enjoy these outdoor spaces.
