The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Fire Weather Watch for the North Bay Mountains and East Bay Hills (above 1,000 feet) for 10pm Monday (9/7) to 8am Wednesday (9/9).

HIGHEST THREAT: Interior higher terrain of the North Bay Mountains and the East Bay Hills

WIND: Areas expected to experience the strongest winds will be at higher peaks and ridges. Sustained north to northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 45 mph above 1000 feet. Local gusts at isolated peaks and ridge tops may approach 50 mph.

HUMIDITY: Poor overnight recoveries expected.

IMPACTS: Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
