A Red Flag Warning is in effect for upper elevations across the Bay Area including the North Bay Mountains from 10 PM Monday (9/7) to 8 AM Wednesday (9/9). Winds will shift to the north-northeast and becoming gusty in the North Bay Hills by Monday evening. Locally gusty offshore winds will then continue at times in the North Bay hills through Wednesday morning. Sustained north to northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 45 mph above 1000 feet. Local gusts at isolated peaks and ridge tops may approach 50 mph. Strongest winds expected late Monday night and Tuesday morning. Humidity will drop into the teens during the daytime hours.

HIGHEST THREAT: Interior higher terrain of the North Bay Mountains and the East Bay Hills
WIND: Areas expected to experience the strongest winds will be at higher peaks and ridges. Sustained north to northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 45 mph above 1000 feet. Local gusts at isolated peaks and ridge tops may approach 50 mph.
HUMIDITY: Poor overnight recoveries expected.
IMPACTS: Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
