The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the North Bay Mountains beginning Monday (10/19) at 11 PM to Wednesday (10/21) at 8 AM. PLEASE CONTINUE TO LIMIT OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES THAT COULD SPARK A WILDFIRE.
* AFFECTED AREA: North Bay Mountains.
* WIND: North to northeast 10 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Winds will be stronger overnight. Locally stronger winds are possible over the higher ridges and peaks.
* HUMIDITY: Daytime humidities in the 12-20% range with poor overnight recoveries in the 20-30% range.
* HIGHEST THREAT: Mountains of Napa County and northeastern Sonoma County.
* IMPACTS: Any fires that start will likely spread rapidly due to the combination of dry fuels, gusty north-northeasterly winds, and low humidities.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
