Santa Rosa, CA – The City of Santa Rosa will extend most parking fee waivers and reductions beyond December 31, 2020. The decision, authorized by the City Council at its Tuesday, December 15 meeting, extends parking fee reductions that have been in place since July 1, 2020, due to Sonoma County’s COVID-19 Shelter in Place Order. The parking fee reductions aim to help ensure parking space is available while also supporting restaurants and retail businesses in these challenging times.
Most free and reduced-price parking options, will be extended through June 30, 2021 or to when Sonoma County reaches the Yellow Tier under the State’s COVID restrictions, and include the following:
- Free parking for the first hour of parking at all five of the City’s parking garages.
- Free garage parking between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., Monday through Friday and all-day Saturday and Sunday.
- One free metered parking validation session up to $3.15 when using the Passport Parking mobile app. Enter the validation code: PARKSR
- Waiver of meter reservation fees for businesses to make temporary use of the public right of way for parklets, outdoor seating, and expanded outdoor retail space.
The Value Zone parking meter rates will return to $1/hour effective January 1, 2021.
