The National Weather Service has issued a Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas for Eastern Sonoma County, which includes Santa Rosa. The Advisory is in place until 2:15 a.m.
Moderate to heavy rain is occurring in the advisory area and this is causing urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding
in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen and additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in continued minor flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/ PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
