The City of Santa Rosa is working on two Sewer Replacement Projects in north east Santa Rosa, each performing similar small excavation work, however the projects are in very different phases of construction.

The North Trunk Sewer Replacement Project – Mendocino to Terra Linda Drive is currently under construction. Crews have been making small excavations to locate existing underground utilities in preparation for the trenchless construction work. This project will make major improvements to the North Trunk Sewer Main, a pipeline which collects sewer flows from homes and businesses in the area of Chanate Road and Mendocino Avenue. This project will relocate 1,950-feet of existing 12-inch and 15-inch vitrified clay pipe sewer main located adjacent to Paulin Creek and 1,350-feet of 15-inch reinforced concrete pipe located in Mendocino Avenue and Lomitas Lane. In addition, 1,866-feet of 8-inch water main will be installed in various parts of Chanate Road, Lomitas Avenue and Lomitas Lane to both increase and upgrade the existing water system and provide for separation from the new sewer main. Pavement treatments will be performed upon completion of sewer and water replacement work.

The Terra Linda and Buena Vista Sewer and Water Replacement Project is currently in design phase and scheduled to begin construction in summer 2022. Crews have been making small excavations to locate existing underground utilities as part of the project design phase. This project will upgrade existing 6-inch to 10-inch water mains along Terra Linda Drive to remediate fire flow deficiencies. Aged sewer mains will be replaced congruently to minimize the potential for future deficiencies. Water and Sewer mains in Terra Linda Court will also be replaced. Once the mains have been replaced, the pavement will be reconstructed along Terra Linda Drive to Buena Vista and in Terra Linda Court.
