Transit Driver Appreciation Day is an annual event to celebrate the essential service of public transit operators. Santa Rosa CityBus drivers are dedicated to what they do, and they deserve a heartfelt thank you!
Santa Rosa CityBus and Santa Rosa Paratransit bus operators do it all from dawn till dark , 7 days a week– conduct pre-trip inspections, pick up passengers, collect fares, sanitize the vehicles, answer trip planning questions – all while safely maneuvering an extra-large and heavy vehicle through traffic, around tight corners, through all sorts of weather and unprecedented conditions.
During these challenging times, it’s more important than ever that we honor our public servants who are essential to keeping our community moving. On March 18, 2021, we are again celebrating International Transit Driver Appreciation Day.
We hope you will join us in thanking your driver, a smile and a “thank you”, “good morning” or “good afternoon” can go a long way to show your appreciation. Tweet a photo of yourself at the bus stop or while riding the bus, using the hashtag #TDAD and tagging us at @SRCITYBUS.
Transit Driver Appreciation Day is an annual event to celebrate the essential service of public transit vehicle operators. The date of March 18 was selected to commemorate the first bus line, Blaise Pascal's Carosses à Cinq Sous in Paris, 1662.
