The refilling of Lake Ralphine at Howarth Park, which would typically happen this time of year, has been suspended to preserve water amid severe drought conditions. The lake is normally refilled toward the end of the recreational season by water pumped from Santa Rosa’s ground water wells. Given current water supply conditions, the City will not refill the lake this year to preserve water supply for future use, as needed.
The boat dock and boat rentals at the lake were closed on September 8th for the remainder of the fall season, and the boat ramp was closed to vehicle access due to the low water level. Residents may still unload and carry boats to launch from the boat ramp. No additional impacts to recreational use of Lake Ralphine are anticipated at this time.
If conditions change, signs will be posted. LEARN MORE
