Following completion of a competitive Requests for Proposals process, City Council has selected two charitable organizations to provide homeless services programs for the city. This will provide for the continued operation of the Homeless Services Center, Family Support Center, and Homeless Outreach Services Team, operated by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa, as well as the YWCA Sonoma County Safe House Shelter program. Additionally, Catholic Charities was selected out of three proposals submitted to continue as the operator of the city-owned Samuel L. Jones Hall Homeless Shelter, which it has operated since the shelter opened in 2005. Agreements will be prepared for Council consideration for the initial period July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, and continuing for up to five years subject to contractor performance and funding availability.
More information on the selection process, the scope of services to be provided, and next steps is available in the staff report presented to City Council on Feb. 22, 2022: Read Staff Report.
