UPDATE: Heat Advisory Issued - The Excessive Heat Watch has been upgraded to a Heat Advisory for the same time period for ALL of Santa Rosa. A new graphic has been provided to replace the the previous one.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an Excessive Heat Watch for inland areas throughout the Bay Area, including ALL of Santa Rosa from, 11AM Friday to 10PM Friday. The NWS considers this a Moderate Heat Risk event.
- Avoid strenuous outdoor activities
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Check up on elderly and pets
The City of Santa Rosa will continue to monitor the forecast and provide updates and/or activate a cooling center if conditions meet set criteria. At this time, it is not believed that this will become a High or Very High heat risk event. Cooling and lower Heat Risk is expected Saturday and into Sunday. Although not activated as official cooling centers at this time, both Finley and Steele Lane community centers will be open during the day on Thursday (6/9) and Friday (6/10) for residents to find relief from the warm daytime temperatures. Hours of operation for each facility is as follows:
- Finley Community Center: 8:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m.
- Steele Lane Community Center: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
