The lure of cooling off and enjoying water sports at local beaches, lakes and pools is especially strong as temperatures warm during summer and early fall in Sonoma County. While most of the time this is a wonderful way to enjoy summer fun with friends and family, residents are urged to keep water safety top of mind at this time of year, especially, to avoid the dangers of drowning.
Recent tragic events in our region have underscored this need for us at Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks. We ask that you please take a few moments to review important water safety tips from the American Red Cross. Please also consider swimming lessons for anyone in your family who cannot swim or who needs to improve their swimming skills to become more competent in the water.
While many of the swim lesson classes offered by Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks are full or near capacity for the 2022 summer season, there are still a few spots available in beginner to more advance levels. You can view options and register now for summer classes with availability. Additionally, more options for swim lessons will be added for the fall season, which will be available for viewing on July 28 and open for registration beginning August 4.
