Students Ride Back-to-School Free with CityBus!

NF_Back to School

CityBus can help make your morning school commute less hectic— just sit back, relax, read, listen to music, catch up with friends, and leave the driving to us. CityBus is affordable, clean, safe, and a climate-friendly way to get around town because buses produce less air pollution and help reduce the numbers of cars on the road. Plus, parents can save time and avoid traffic at school drop-off‑ zones when students ride CityBus to school.

Students in K-12 Ride Free! Let CityBus be your free ride back to school - it’s easy! Just hop on board and ride! Students in grades 9-12 simply show their school ID to the driver when boarding and they are set to go.  The UR Free – Unlimited Rides Free for Youth program launched in July 2021, where youth 18 years or younger can ride CityBus free anywhere, anytime CityBus operates. This program has been extended through June 2025.

SRJC Students Ride Free! SRJC Students can ride any bus line, any time on Santa Rosa CityBus, Petaluma Transit, and Sonoma County Transit. SRJC students simply show their validated SRJC Cub Card to the bus driver and they are set to go. SRJC students ride free for travel anywhere in Sonoma County, not just for trips to and from campus. Plus, with the Clipper Bay Pass, students can use a Clipper card issued by the SRJC to receive free transit across all Bay Area Transit providers.
