This recovery project will remove and replace portions of roadway landscaping, including supporting electrical and irrigation infrastructure damaged by the 2017 wildfires in Fountaingrove and Coffey Park burn scar areas.
Work is planned to start this month with tree protection and grubbing, removal of damaged or obstructing trees, shrubs and tall grasses in the Coffey Park area. Trees identified in the arborist report and tall weeds in the right of way will be removed, and protective fencing will be placed around remaining trees to protect them from damage during installation of the irrigation systems. Once this process is complete in Coffey Park, the process will continue in Fountaingrove progressing from west to east.
Temporary traffic impacts are expected as travel lane closures will be permitted from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm to allow contractor’s equipment access to the work sites. This is especially the case when crews begin removal and installation of the irrigation systems in the roadway medians. A minimum of one travel lane in each direction will be maintained.
The recovery project is expected to require one year to complete, weather permitting.
