Despite the welcome rain last weekend, the drought is still here. The supply conditions in Lake Sonoma, which stores a substantial portion the region’s drinking water, are historically low. Lake Sonoma holds multiple years of water supply for the region, but the National Weather Service now predicts a high likelihood of La Niña conditions persisting through early winter. This means we all need to make a concerted effort to save water now for the potentially rainless days ahead. 

Santa Rosa and the region have done a fantastic job of achieving water savings so far. This is good news because it means we can stretch our supplies by making every drop count.
