Temporary Prince Memorial Greenway Trail Closure and Detour

News Flash_Prince Memorial Greenway

Prince Memorial Greenway Trail will be temporarily closed to pedestrians and bicyclists during Transportation and Public Works construction of the Crosstown Trunk Lining project. Detour maps are posted at multiple trail closure locations. (see detour map below)

At this time, the contractor is installing temporary bypass piping at grade along the trail alignment. Once the pipe is installed it will be tested and placed into service. While in service, the trunk lining work will be performed on 3 separate trunk line segments. When the trunk lining work is completed the temporary bypass piping will then be decommissioned and removed from the trail alignment.

Prince Memorial Greenway Trail is expected to reopen to pedestrians and bicyclists by October 19, 2022.

This project will extend the useful life of a portion of the crosstown trunk sewer pipeline after CCTV observations identified corrosion at the crown of the pipe. Rehabilitation work will be performed at three locations along the trunk.
