[ARCHIVED] Call for Artists: 20th Annual National Arts Program, Exhibition and Competition

Santa Rosa, Calif. – The City of Santa Rosa Public Art Program, in conjunction with the National Arts Program, is proud to announce the 20th annual National Arts Program Exhibition and Competition in Santa Rosa. This program provides local artists of all ages with a forum to showcase their artistic accomplishments and encourages artistic growth through scholarships and awards. All entries will be exhibited at the Finley Community Center.

This Call for Artists is open to all City of Santa Rosa residents, City employees and relatives of City employees. Registration ends Jan. 6, 2023; the City strongly encourages early registration.

Registration will be online only. You can apply directly online at nationalartsprogram.org/santarosa. If you cannot register online, please contact Jessica Rasmussen at [email protected].

There is no fee to enter, and artists of all ages and levels of experience are encouraged to participate. Cash awards (totaling $3,450) will be awarded by age and classifications.

Awards to be Distributed:

Professional
1st place - $350
2nd place - $250
3rd place - $150

Intermediate
1st place - $350
2nd place - $250
3rd place - $150

Amateur
1st place - $350
2nd place - $250
3rd place - $150

Teen (13-18)
1st place - $150
2nd place - $100
3rd place - $50

Youth (12 & Under)
1st place - $150
2nd place - $100
3rd place - $50


In addition, a Best of Show award of $400 and a Continuing Art Education scholarship award valued at $200 will be presented. Every artist will receive a certificate of participation.

The exhibition will take place from Feb. 6 to April 21, 2023, at the Finley Community Center, 2060 West College Avenue, which is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

The National Arts Program was established in 1985 by The National Arts Foundation to inspire, acknowledge and reward creative accomplishments throughout the nation. The program began as a pilot project in Philadelphia and has extended nationally to include over 80 venues in 37 states. The concept of The National Arts Program is to provide an uninhibited opportunity for all people to present their talents, at whatever level, in a public exhibition, free to artists and the public.
