A Flood Watch for North Bay Area has been issued by National Weather Service (NWS) effective from Friday, Dec. 30 to Saturday, Dec. 31. NWS forecasts rain starting this Thursday, Dec. 29, through Saturday, Dec. 31. Rain will gradually increase in intensity on Friday, with the heaviest rainfall expected Saturday morning. The rain on Saturday is forecasted for high-intensity rain in Santa Rosa, bringing the three-day total of 3 to 4” of rain locally. The rain is forecasted to subside in Santa Rosa by New Year’s Eve. Nuisance flooding and ponding of water are possible across Santa Rosa. A sandbag station remains available for City of Santa Rosa residents. Also, residents in and around the Glass Fire burn scar should take steps to be prepared, as rain may cause debris flows on the burn scar. Visit SRCity.org/RainReady for more information.
