Last month, the City Council adopted the 2023 legislative platforms for the city’s advocacy priorities in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., respectively. The legislative platforms are in place to communicate effectively with policymakers and government agencies to advance our City’s interests.
The adoption of these platforms ensures the City of Santa Rosa remain competitive in applying for funding opportunities at the state and federal levels. As we saw last year, legislative action in Washington, D.C. is increasing funding to address public safety, climate change, energy resiliency and drought relief. California is also facing budget challenges for the coming fiscal year that could require the City to take action to protect our funding priorities.
