The Santa Rosa Police Department is now accepting applications for the next cohort of Chief John Cregan’s Community Ambassador Team (C-CAT). Applications are available online at SRCity.org/CCAT and will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023.
C-CAT is a bridge between the community and the Santa Rosa Police Department to facilitate and enhance communication between the Police Department and the community. C-CAT assists in informing the Police Chief of the broader community’s concerns and views regarding public safety, thus guiding the focus of law enforcement services. C-CAT will review current and new policies and procedures to provide input and feedback to Chief Cregan. The independent police auditor will also present their findings to the C-CAT members.
The City Manager will review completed applications to identify a diverse cross-section of applicants in background, experiences, and geographic location. Approximately 15 to 20 successful candidates will be selected by Santa Rosa’s City Manager, Maraskeshia Smith, and invited to attend the Community Police Experience (CPE) in April. The next cohort’s monthly meeting schedule will be determined by the availability of the group and will meet in person with Chief Cregan at the Santa Rosa Police Department.
Applications can be submitted via email to the City Manager’s Office at [email protected] or mailed/dropped off in person at the City Manager’s Office at 100 Santa Rosa Ave. Room 10 Santa Rosa, CA 95404, Attn: Liz Licursi.
For questions about the C-CAT program or application process, contact Lt. Dan Hackett at [email protected] or (707) 543-3630. Visit SRCity.org/CCAT for more information about the Chief’s Community Ambassador Team.
