[ARCHIVED] Sandbag Availability

Sand and Sandbags are Available

In order to help prevent damage from flooding, sand is available for City residents at the City Municipal Services Center at 55 Stony Point Road. The yard is open 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. Materials are available throughout the entire rain season, not only during storm events.

City residents can drive into the Municipal Services Center yard and use the sandbag filling station shown in the image below. Shovels will be on hand for residents to fill bags with sand. Residents should plan to transport the sandbags in a vehicle they don't mind getting dirty and should note that the sand has been stored outdoors and could be wet, so the sandbags may be heavy and muddy to transport.

These materials are provided to Santa Rosa residents only.
Proof of residency will be required and checked on-site. Below is a list of other agencies in the area that may be providing sand and bags to residents.

Please contact the Transportation and Public Works Department at 543-3800 for more information.

Other cities and agencies may be offering sand and sandbag materials to their residents.  We recommend calling them first, to confirm they are offering these materials.
