Are you Registered for CivicReady? Upcoming System Test on May 31.

Are you receiving CivicReady messages from the Santa Rosa Fire and Police Departments? In November of 2021, the City implemented a new mass communications tool, CivicReady, to issue Public Safety News and Alerts. While CivicReady has replaced Nixle, SoCoAlert remains the primary emergency alerting system for the City of Santa Rosa. Visit SRCity.org/CivicReady to complete your CivicReady registration today and SRCity.org/KnowYourAlerts for SoCoAlert registration and additional emergency alert information.

What is CivicReady?

The CivicReady mass notification system is a free, opt-in communication service to keep the community informed of significant Santa Rosa incidents and essential news. You can read the latest Santa Rosa CivicReady messages here: https://public.alertsense.com/content/2006/. The City will use CivicReady to issue Public Safety Alerts and Public Safety News, as outlined below:

  • Public Safety Alerts - Examples of Public Safety Alerts include evacuation notifications, imminent or active threats, at-risk missing persons, severe weather events (like Red Flag Warnings, etc.), and other incidents that require rapid response and communication.
  • Public Safety News – Examples of Public Safety News include incident press releases and community events, or meetings hosted by police or fire departments.

Upon registering for CivicReady, simply provide your address and preferred methods of contact. All users will have the ability to customize their notification preferences when signing up. Alerts are sent always sent via email, text when action is needed, and/or phone call in very rare or extreme circumstances, to ensure you don’t miss essential communication relevant to you.

A Test of the CivicReady System:

On Wednesday, May 31st,  at 10:00 a.m., the City of Santa Rosa will send a CivicReady TEST text and email message. Now is the time to review your subscription settings to ensure you receive both the text and email messages, based on your subscription preferences. This test will provide the community with an opportunity to modify your existing subscription settings and view their account.

To ensure future delivery of CivicReady notifications to a mobile phone or email inbox, add [email protected], 38276, [email protected], and [email protected] to your safe sender list or address book.
