Improving City Streets through Community Engagement
The City of Santa Rosa is hosting its third virtual community meeting for the Hopper Avenue Corridor Improvement Project where the public can review and provide feedback on preliminary design alternatives for Hopper Avenue from Coffey Lane to Highway 101. The online meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, via Zoom.
This meeting is a follow-up to the second community meeting and community-wide survey, which both took place in March 2023. In previous outreach efforts, participants were asked to share their priorities to better inform the design process. Using this feedback, the project team has refined the design concepts for improvements along Hopper Avenue. Community input received on the refined designs will be applied to the recovery project’s final design improvements to create a roadway that reflects the community’s vision.
Participants can attend the community meeting as follows:

Hopper Avenue is a key corridor connecting the Coffey Park Neighborhood to Highway 101. This corridor experienced damage from both the 2017 wildfire and post-fire during the debris removal process. In 2021, Santa Rosa City Council unanimously voted to dedicate a portion of the PG&E settlement funds towards recovery improvements along the Hopper Avenue corridor, to support fire recovery efforts.
