NF_NOFA Affordable Housing Awards

The Santa Rosa Housing Authority has approved approximately $8.5 million in conditional loan commitments of 2023-24 loan funds to four Santa Rosa housing developments, which will help create up to 158 new units of affordable housing and rehabilitate and preserve 49 units in the city. The awards were approved on July 24, 2023 in response to the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Notice of Funding Availability (“NOFA”) announcing approximately $8.1 million and the HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) NOFA announcing approximately $653,000 of funds for acquisition, development, and rehabilitation of affordable housing. The Fiscal Year 2023/2024 NOFA is comprised of local funds, Permanent Local Housing Allocation (PLHA) program funds, and U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

The four affordable housing projects selected for funding include:

  • $3.5 million for acquisition and construction related costs for Burbank Avenue Apartments located 1780 Burbank Avenue
  • $1.073 million for acquisition and rehabilitation costs for Vigil Light Senior Apartments located at 1945 Long Drive
  • $1.3 million for acquisition, predevelopment and construction-related costs for Caritas Homes Phase II located at 360 Seventh Street
  • $2.585 million for predevelopment and construction-related costs for 3575 Mendocino Avenue Phase III located at 3575 Mendocino Avenue
