On Thursday, Aug. 24, the City of Santa Rosa and its Housing Authority joined Burbank Housing and Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa in celebrating the opening of Caritas Homes Phase 1 — a new 64-unit affordable housing complex in the City’s downtown. The Housing Authority committed nearly $9 million in Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery funds to the project and 30 Section-8, Project-Based Vouchers for chronically homeless households. The vouchers will ensure the housing units remain affordable to residents for decades. Robust onsite services such as mental health services, case management, care coordination, substance use treatment services, and permanent supportive housing services will also be offered.
