News Flash_VPP Seminar

The Santa Rosa Violence Prevention Partnership is excited to present its annual Violence Prevention Awareness Seminar at Finley Community Center on Nov. 2, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Following a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Partnership is excited to revive its annual Violence Prevention Awareness Seminar. This all-day event will feature a keynote address from Always Running author and former Poet Laureate of Los Angeles, Luis J. Rodriguez, an update from Santa Rosa Police Department on the state of gang activity in the city, a panel discussion with violence prevention professionals from throughout California, as well as breakout sessions on mental health first aid, trauma informed care, restorative practices, and other essential topics.

“With behavioral issues and gang involvement on the rise among youth post-pandemic, it’s more important than ever that we come together as a community to chart a better course forward,” said Violence Prevention Program Manager Danielle Garduño, “That’s why we are bringing back the seminar this year – so that we can create a space for leaders from education, law enforcement, government, nonprofits, and members of the community to share information, learn, and be better equipped to address the issue of youth violence in Santa Rosa.”

Tickets for the seminar are $25 and include a continental breakfast and boxed lunch. Scholarships are available for anyone in need, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Visit https://bit.ly/3Q0xKNY to purchase tickets or for more information.
