City Council is seeking volunteers interested in serving on the following Boards that have current or upcoming vacancies:
Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Board (One at-large position, one disabled community representative)
About: The City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board provides guidance in the preparation of the City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan by identifying pedestrian and bicycle projects and advising on the priority of those projects. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan includes the background, analysis of the existing pedestrian and bike pathways, recommendations for new pedestrian and bike pathways, bicycle and pedestrian accident analysis, pedestrian and bicycle education and safety programs, and pedestrian and bicycle amenities.
Board of Building Regulation Appeals (Three at-large positions that may require special qualifications such as architect, general contractor, structural, civil or mechanical engineer, plumbing contractor)
About: The Board of Building Regulation Appeals is charged with the task of determining the suitability of alternate materials and types of construction, and to provide reasonable interpretations of the provisions of the City of Santa Rosa Building and Safety Code. The Board of Building Regulation Appeals consists of seven citizen volunteers appointed by individual City Council members based on their specific knowledge and expertise.
Board of Public Utilities (One at-large position)
About: The Board of Public Utilities (BPU), established by City Charter Section 25, is comprised of seven (7) members individually appointed by City Council members. The BPU has general policy authority and direction over the management and operation of the City's water and wastewater facilities. The Board also directs other water operations managed by the City and water facilities owned or operated by the City.
Community Advisory Board (One at-large position, one southeast area representative)
About: The CAB connects city government and residents so the public can have a voice in decisions that impact their lives and build a stronger community.
Marin Sonoma Mosquito & Vector Control District (One at-large position)
About: The Marin/Sonoma Mosquito & Vector Control District is governed by a Board of Trustees. Each member represents his or her city of residence or a county at large.
Waterways Advisory Committee (Four at-large positions)
About: The Waterways Advisory Committee is an advisory task force to the City Council, Planning Commission and other City decision-making bodies. Its charge is to review public and private improvement plans for consistency with adopted waterway plans, goals and policies.

For immediate consideration, applications are due by Nov. 1, 2023. Applications for all boards are always accepted, retained for one year, and will be considered should a position become available.
