Stony Point Road Reconstruction & Widening Project
The City of Santa Rosa would like to thank you for your patience throughout this time of construction. We are working closely with our contractors to minimize impacts and keep residents informed. For your convenience, weekly updates will be posted on this project website, and we invite you to stay connected with us on social media to help you navigate through affected areas.
Update: April 20, 2018
Final Surface Paving Delayed Due to Weather
Depending on weather conditions, final paving activities are scheduled next week and may extend into the weekend and the following week. Construction crews will complete paving preparations and install the final surface from south of Hearn Avenue to Sebastopol Road. Expect daily lane shifts on Stony Point Road, one lane will remain open in each direction during construction. Flaggers will hold cross street traffic at intersections while the pavement is placed and compacted within the intersection, so allow extra time to travel through the area.
Please drive carefully, follow traffic control signage and construction flaggers. Construction hours are 7 AM to 5PM, however conditions may require work to extend later.
Other activities will include continuation of concrete work, road striping and landscaping.
Expect delays and use alternate routes (Highway 12 and Highway 101 are strongly advised). Be prepared for possible delays at bus stops due to the paving work.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during construction.
What We Are Doing
Now, through Summer of 2018, the final construction phase of the Stony Point Road widening and reconstruction project is underway. In this final phase, Stony Point Road will be widened into four lanes from Sebastopol Road to Hearn Avenue and then taper into two lanes with a middle turn lane from Hearn Avenue to Barndance Lane.
