What is the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Update?
The City of Santa Rosa, in coordination with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board is updating the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan (BPMP). Since January 2018, our team has been actively gathering community feedback on suggested improvements to the City's Bike and Pedestrian network. Feedback was obtained through a variety of methods including community events, stakeholder presentations, meetings, and through our online survey & interactive mapping tools. The feedback we receive was reviewed and submitted for consideration in developing the draft Bike and Pedestrian networks. A draft of the Bicycle and Pedestrian network recommendations will be presented during the Community Open House on July 25, 6:00-8:00pm.
The Master Plan Update 2018 is a critical tool in building a citywide transportation system that is bicycle and pedestrian friendly. The goal of the Plan Update is to encourage residents to bike and walk; to make Santa Rosa a more bicycle and pedestrian friendly city
Elements of the Plan Update include:
• Existing Conditions
• Bicycle Traffic Level of Stress
• Design Guidelines
• Bicycle Friendly Community Assessment
• Bicycle and Pedestrian Network Recommendations
• Public Outreach
