What is the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Update?
The Master Plan Update 2018 is a critical tool in building a citywide transportation system that is bicycle and pedestrian friendly. The goal of the Plan Update is to encourage residents to bike and walk; to make Santa Rosa a more bicycle and pedestrian friendly city.
The City of Santa Rosa, in coordination with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board is updating the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan (BPMP). Since January 2018, our team has been actively gathering community feedback on suggested improvements to the City's Bike and Pedestrian network. Feedback was obtained through a variety of methods including community events, stakeholder presentations, meetings, and through our online survey & interactive mapping tools. The feedback we receive was reviewed and submitted for consideration in developing the draft recommendations for the Bike and Pedestrian networks. A draft of the Bicycle and Pedestrian network recommendations was presented during the Community Open House on July 25.
What is the New Online Mapping Tool?
The new mapping tool is a compilation of the feedback we have received to date. Hard copy maps of the draft recommendations were presented at the Community Open House in July. Community feedback received during the Open House was compiled with the maps to create an updated interactive map with potential projects. From now through August 31, 2018 we would like you to vote (thumbs-up or thumbs-down) and to comment on the proposed projects you would like to see in the final Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. This plan will help guide our city planners on future projects. Access the Online Interactive Map Here!
