[ARCHIVED] Retaining the Rain in Your Rebuild - A Presentation, Panel Discussion & Mini Expo

Daily Acts Event

Did you know that a 1,000 square foot roof can catch over 600 gallons of water from only 1" of rainfall? If you are rebuilding this is a great time to learn how to incorporate rainwater catchment into your site and take advantage of this free resource from the sky!

When:   Thursday, October 4th, 2018  6:00 pm until 8:00 pm
Where:  Utility Field Office, 35 Stony Point Rd., Santa Rosa, 95401
Cost:        Free

Daily Acts is excited to present an informative event in partnership with the City of Santa Rosa and Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership on 'Retaining the Rain in Your Rebuild', a way to connect you with resources, products and designers who can help you incorporate these systems into your site. This event is geared towards homeowners who are rebuilding and will provide more details on the optional features outlined in the Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership's scalable, easy-to-permit landscape templates found here.

We will start off the evening with a short presentation on above ground rainwater harvesting techniques such as barrels and tanks and will dive into how to calculate your storage potential and what to do with system overflow. This will be followed by an interactive panel discussion with local experts in the field that will be moderated by Brock Dolman the Co-Director of the Occidental Arts & Ecology Center Waters Institute.

Panelists:
Jesse Savou from BlueBarrel Rainwater Catchment Systems
Tom LeBlanc from Community Soil
Damien McAnany from Equinox Landscape
Patty Hamilton from Harmony Farm Supply & Nursery
Erik Ohlsen from Permaculture Artisans

After a brief Q & A with the panelists, the event will conclude with a mini expo featuring resource tables and additional designers who are able to provide follow-up support.

We hope to see you at this informative event and to support you to capture the rain in your rebuild!

This is a follow-up event to the Pathways to Rebuilding Landscapes Workshop being hosted by Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership at the Santa Rosa Utility Field Office on September 29th from 8:00 am -12:30 pm.
