[ARCHIVED] Become a Housing Authority Tenant Commissioner

The City of Santa Rosa is conducting a recruitment to fill an upcoming vacancy on the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. This vacancy is for a Tenant Commissioner, which is open to Housing Choice Voucher participants in good standing, age 62 or older. Participants in our housing programs provide essential insight and perspective on the activities of the Housing Authority. Of the seven members of the Board of Commissioners, two are participants in the Housing Choice Voucher program. 

The Housing Authority Board is made up of Santa Rosa citizens appointed by the City Council. The mission of the Housing Authority is to ensure adequate, decent, safe and sanitary housing for qualified people within Santa Rosa consistent with federal, state and local laws. The Housing Authority is responsible for the oversight of important federal housing programs, as well as promoting the development of affordable housing in Santa Rosa. 

Attendance at the monthly public meetings is required, and Commissioners are expected to review all the Agenda materials prior to each meeting. Previous experience on a public board or commission is not required.
