The October 2017 wildfires caused extensive damage to Santa Rosa's public infrastructure. Under the presidential disaster declaration approved for the wildfires, Santa Rosa has the ability to seek cost recovery for the repair and rebuilding of this infrastructure through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance Program. FEMA's Public Assistance (PA) program provides supplemental federal disaster grant assistance for debris removal, life-saving emergency protective measures, and the repair, replacement, or restoration of disaster-damaged publicly-owned facilities. The PA program also encourages protection of these damaged facilities from future events by providing assistance for hazard mitigation measures during the recovery process.
To provide the community with an overview of the federal, state and local funding status for the City's various PA Repair and Recovery projects, the City has developed a new online dashboard to track this information. Individuals can access this tool and additional rebuilding information for the City of Santa Rosa at srcity.org/rebuild.
