Director of Human Resources Appointed

Amy Reeve

The City of Santa Rosa has appointed Amy Reeve to serve as the Director of the Human Resources Department, a role responsible for administering the recruitment, examination, and selection of City personnel, as well as fostering career development opportunities for employees throughout the organization. Reeve will oversee a 20-person human resources team.

Reeve was born and raised in Santa Rosa and most recently served as the Director of Human Resources and Risk Management for the City of Petaluma and has more than 13 years of local government experience, having served as the Human Resources Manager for the communities of Coronado, in San Diego County and the Town of Windsor.

Reeve has a strong leadership and municipal management background with experience in employee relations, training and development, negotiations, benefits administration, leave administration, risk management and employee engagement.

A graduate of Santa Rosa High School, Reeve went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sacramento State University and a Master’s Degree in Organization Development from the University of San Francisco. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a CalPELRA Labor Relations Master (CLRM).

“Ms. Reeve’s professional background is the right fit for our City,” said City Manager Sean McGlynn. “As a native of Santa Rosa, she has expressed her enthusiasm about serving the community in her hometown and that energy, coupled with her extensive experience, will go a long way in helping strengthen Santa Rosa’s efforts to attract and retain a diverse and talented workforce.”

Reeve’s official start date with the City of Santa Rosa is scheduled for Monday, March 18, 2019.
