Hundreds of seasonal staff to be hired in the next couple months
The City of Santa Rosa Recreation and Parks Department is hiring over 300 seasonal employees for spring and summer jobs. Job positions are available in several areas of the department including aquatics, sports, neighborhood services, customer service, park maintenance, Howarth Park concessions and summer camps.
The Recreation and Parks Department hires a few hundred temporary employees each year to help run a robust operation of swim lessons and public swim hours, summer day camps, youth and adult recreation programs, and outdoor park activities and amusements. The positions are suited for those interested in working with the public and looking for short-term spring or summer employment opportunities. Job descriptions, requirements, and a downloadable application can be found on our Aquatics Employment page.
The Department will also be accepting applications for the Summer Teen Work Experience Program starting March 1, 2017. The program offers teens, ages 13-17, the opportunity to learn valuable on-the-job skills. Teens can choose from various interests including working with children or animals, swimming, coaching and more. Cost of the program is $85 and the deadline to apply is April 7, 2017. Work experience hours can help satisfy community service graduation requirements for all of the local schools. More information is available on our Summer Work Experience Program for Teens page.
