Santa Rosa Police Chief Hank Schreeder has changed his retirement date to August 1, 2019. Chief Schreeder’s original retirement date was planned for May 1, 2019 as announced in a press release from February 28, 2019.
The City has launched the recruitment process for a new police chief and anticipates making a final selection in July 2019.
“The change in the Chief’s retirement date will limit any disruption an interim transition may cause and will allow the City to focus entirely on the recruitment of a new Chief,” said City Manager Sean McGlynn. “I thank Chief Schreeder for his commitment to ensuring a seamless transition plan for the City and for the greater community.”
Chief Schreeder has served with the Santa Rosa Police Department for 28 years. For more information about his law enforcement service, refer to the original press release announcing his retirement at srcity.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=522.
